Monaco vs Bordeaux Preview and Prediction

Monaco can keep their slender 3-point lead by beating Bordeaux when they visit Stade Louis II this Saturday. The home side are in excellent form in Ligue 1 but may well have 1 eye on next week’s last 16 second leg Champions League tie with Manchester City. Monaco trail 5-3 from the first leg following a thrilling game at the Etihad Stadium and they may well rest a couple of players for this 1.

There are question marks over whether Colombian striker Radamel Falcao will be available after he missed the last couple of games through injury. He has already found the net 16 times in 2016/17 and will be needed in the closing weeks of the campaign if his side are to lift the title this May. The pressure may well be on Monaco with Nice playing on Friday night and likely to win against bottom-half side Caen. Nice and 2nd placed PSG however are unlikely to slip up too often during the next few weeks considering their respective fixtures. Monaco are unbeaten since mid-December in Ligue 1 and we expect them win this 1.

Bordeaux meanwhile have only lost once in 2017, and that was to PSG. They managed a creditable 1-1 draw at home Lyon last Friday and will be in confident move ahead of this game. Sitting in 5th place, they are 4 points behind Lyon who look set to qualify for next season’s Europa League. Lyon also have a game in hand.

We expect this to be a close match but the home side and league leaders to come out on top. Bordeaux have a relatively solid defence but it is probable that Monaco will score at least twice in this 1.

Our advice is to back a bet of 2 or 3 Match Goals in the game, which is available at odds of 21/20

For our correct score prediction, we expect Monaco to win this game 2-1, which is valued at odds of 7/1
