The words of the Juventus coach on the eve of the game away at Napoli

With semi-final progress in the Coppa Italia sealed, the Bianconeri turn their attentions back to the league and with a big game awaiting at the San Paolo on Sunday night against Napoli.

At today’s press conference, the Juventus coach, Maurizio Sarri said of the game: “It’s going to be a special match for me, but what matters most is the collective goal: To bring home the three points in a difficult match.”

GATTUSO’S NAPOLI

“Napoli with the addition of Demme now returns to having a point of reference in midfield through the middle. I expect a difficult game, they are a strong team that even if they’re going through a difficult moment, remain very dangerous in a one-off match.

“Their position in the table is strange, because if you then look at the statistics tables in Serie A, you’ll notice that they are in first for ball possession, average time of keeping the ball in midfield, successful long-balls and attempted shots. Their ranking doesn’t match the quality that they are expressing. They are a side that are destined to recover.

“The technical qualities of their players are very high, and they’ll be coming into the game from an important victory that can revive them, they will be very motivated. Napoli from Ancelotti to Gattuso is changing: The arrivals of the central midfielders say that they want to play in a different way, from the point of view of the formation and their positioning. Gattuso is a coach who manages to give great solidarity to his teams.”

THE GROWTH OF BENTANCUR
“Rodrigo has ample room for improvement in the build-up phase, but he gives us balance with his extraordinary dynamism and is present in the two phases of the game. He is a young man who is improving dramatically and for us he’s extremely important.”
