There is a good chance that all competitions in Northern Italy will take place behind closed doors in the coming period.

Due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, Juventus – Internazionale, among others, threatens to be played without fans.

Paolo Dal Pino, the president of the Serie A, has sent a letter to the Italian government, in which he requests that all duels from the competition, the Italian cup and all European posters be closed behind closed doors. That reports among other things Calcio and Finanza. Last weekend, four games were canceled due to the Corona virus, but more delay is not desirable.

The Italian Football Association fears that it will be a big problem to reschedule the matches, partly because the competitions have to be finished before the start of the European Championship on 12 June. According to media in the country, the Italian government seems to agree to the request. The decision will probably be announced on Monday evening.

That means that Juventus and Inter also have to do without the support of the supporters. The top match between the two title candidates will be on Sunday 1 March in Turin.
In the north of Italy, six people have since died from the Corona virus. Several cities have already been cut off from the outside world.
