Due to a long-term injury exacerbated by a collision in the DFB Cup semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Bayern midfielder Thiago has undergone groin surgery and will be sidelined for the next three weeks. FCB head coach Hansi Flick confirmed the news in the course of Friday’s digital press conference prior to the Bundesliga meeting with Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening.

“Due to the groin injury, Thiago was having problems in other areas from time to time. After the bodycheck he received against Frankfurt, the time came to deal with the situation. He’ll be out for approximately the next three weeks. He might be available again for the cup final,” the coach reported.
