The Croatian leads the way in the 11-man ranking of madridistas to have provided at least one assist this term.


Luka Modric continues to play a decisive role, both in terms of the side’s build-up play and his contribution in the final third. In the side’s last away game, at the José Zorrilla against Valladolid, he once again showcased his prowess in these departments. The Croatian capped off a stellar showing with a fine goal to round off the scoring in a 4-1 success. In addition to his goals, Modric is catching the eye as an assist provider. Indeed, he’s top of the pile in this facet in LaLiga outings, with four assists to his name.

We weren’t left waiting for long before seeing his first assist of the season. He got his account up and running on Matchday 3, when he linked up with Karim Benzema against Leganés. The duo combined again when Modric laid on another goal for the French hitman in the clash against Celta. Sergio Ramos, in the meeting with Espanyol, and Gareth Bale, against Atlético, are the other squad members to have benefited from a Modric assist.

A total of 11 madridistas have claimed assists so far this LaLiga campaign. Following Modric in the standings are Benzema, Toni Kroos and Lucas Vázquez, with three apiece. Coming in behind them on two assists are Álvaro Odriozola, Marco Asensio and Bale. The list is completed by Marcelo, Sergio Reguilón, Isco and Dani Carvajal, who have all laid on a goal apiece.
