“I’ve found that there’s a lot of quality amongst the youngsters and real commitment amongst the more experienced players”, said the Real Madrid boss.
Carlo Ancelotti sat down with the club’s official media channels to discuss the latest news from within the Real Madrid camp. The Italian boss spoke about the work the players are putting in during the pre-season campaign and what he asks of his players: “We have to take the club’s history into account. As a team, we have to play well and show the quality we’ve got out on the pitch. We also have to play a high-energy, high-intensity game, both with and without the ball, which is what the modern game requires of you: high intensity both on and off the ball”.

“We’ve done well over the past 10 days. The team has put a lot of work in and we’ve combined fitness work with technical and tactical work. The players have done really well. I’ve found that there’s a lot of quality amongst the youngsters and real commitment amongst the more experienced players. I’ve really enjoyed finding those two things: the quality amongst the youngsters, many of whom I didn’t know very well, and, above all, the commitment from the likes of
[Dani] Carvajal, Nacho, Marcelo, Lucas Vázquez and Isco, who’ve won it all in recent years and still have great desire, excitement and hunger to have a good season, which is what we’re all looking to do”.
