Arsenal vs Southampton
English Premier League.
Date: Saturday, 10 September, 2016,
Kick-off: 15:00 UK
Venue: Emirates Stadium, London.

Arsenal started their Premier League season with a disappointing 4-3 defeat at home to Liverpool. They then escaped with a goal-less draw in a difficult away fixture at Leicester and finally got their first win of the season at Watford by a 3-1 margin.

The Gunners fans seem to have finally got their wish as Wenger break the bank to sign a defender in Shkodran Mustafi and a striker in Lucas Perez. But as usual, it remained to be see if these are the kind of players the team need to compete with the top sides of Premier League.

Southampton are yet to taste victory in the 2016/17 season. They were held to 1-1 draws at home by Watford and Sunderland, while lost 2-0 in the trip to Manchester United. The Emirates Stadium is not a happy hunting ground for the Saints as they haven’t won a league game here in 29 years.

Arsenal vs Southampton: Prediction

Arsenal are a strong side at home and have a formidable home record against Southampton in league games. Despite their sloppy start to the season, they will go into this as strong favourites on the back of their head-to-head record against Southampton. A home win is on the cards as they are desperate to make ground of the lost points on the opening two weeks.
