Belgium earned a comprehensive 3-0 win over Cyprus on the opening matchday of the European circuit of 2018 World Cup qualifiers. The star studded side controlled every aspect of the game and is rightly justified by the final score-line. Roberto Martinez will be pleased of what he have seen from his players in his first competitive match as the head-coach of Belgium.

Bosnia and Herzegovina put 5 goals past the minnows Estonia in their opening group game and are currently top of the table with a superior goal difference against Belgium. These two sides are favourites to win the group as only Greece are capable of mounting an outside challenge. The three remaining teams in the group – Estonia and Gibraltar are favourites to finish anywhere in the bottom three.

Belgium vs Bosnia-Herzegovina: Head-to-Head Stats

Bosnia edge the overall head-to-head record with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses from their 6 competitive games against Belgium. All of which have happened in the Qualifying phase of Euro and World Cup tournaments.

The latest of which was for the 2016 European Championships, where Belgium remained unbeaten with a 3-1 win at home and 1-1 draw away at Bosnia.

The previous 4 meetings were in consecutive World Cup qualification tournaments, Bosnia winning the last three, while losing the very first meeting.

Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko have scored in each of the last four meetings with Belgium and interestingly he scored the first goals of the match on all occasions.

Belgium vs Bosnia-Herzegovina: Prediction

Belgium had lost only once in their 11 home matches since the 2014 World Cup. The lone defeat have come in their latest home match against Spain on September 2016. They have an excellent win ration after having won 8 matches during the period. So it is not easy for any visiting side to come to Belgium and get away with a point.

The hosts remain firm favourites with strong form and home advantage on their side. Expect them to come on top of Bosnia in a much expected high scoring contest.

Also keep an eye of Edin Dzeko, who is a most likely candidate to score again after finding the back of the net in the last four meetings with Belgium.

Correct Score Prediction: a 3-1 win for Belgium at 12.00 (11/1).
