Belgium’s Jupiler League 2019/2020 season set to end immediately

The Belgium Jupiler League looks set to be one of the first major European leagues to close their 2019/2020 season early due to the Corona Virus crisis.

On Thursday, the Board of Directors of the Jupiler Pro League have recommended that the season does not re-commence. This is expected to be ratified at a General Meeting.

This news is according to the reliable HLN.

Belgium & Coronavirus
The last games in the Jupiler Pro League took place on Saturday March 7, 2020.

There was due to be a final regular season matchday 30 to be completed, before the play-off system in Belgium got underway.

According to Johns Hopkins University & Medicine, at the time of posting, Belgium has 15,348 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19.

This has sadly resulted in 1,011 deaths. A further 2,495 people have recovered from Corona Virus in Belgium.
