The Juventus defender reacts to the Champions League draw, as well as looking at the Bianconeri’s next game against Genoa

The Juventus players were made aware of their Champions League opponent for the quarter-finals at the end of today’s training session, as confirmed by Leonardo Bonucci: “Yes, we were informed whilst we were coming back in from the field. We will be facing a team that is in-form, dynamic and full of talent, as demonstrated against Real. We are ready, we will face these quarter-finals with the utmost humility, but also with the knowledge that after we got through the Last 16 as we did, we can give our fans two great evenings.”

Still on Ajax: “They have great organisation, the desire to keep going and give everything. They will be two very intense matches, but we have shown that we have what it takes, we need to be like the Juventus that won against Atletico. I’m not looking at the overall draw, just at these two fixtures.” Going back to Tuesday’s victory again: “It was a great night, thanks to our fans and to the whole team, both to those who were on pitch and those that were supporting us from the bench. There is a lot enthusiasm and we want to have nights like that again. After this victory our awareness must increase, we have discovered a new Juventus, one that knows how to attack and play an entertaining game.”

Turning to Serie A, and the Bianconeri’s next match this Sunday: “Genoa at home is always difficult, because they play with intensity, aggression and with a good tempo. We expect it to be like this, but for us we need to think of it as the first of four games to be won to get closer to the Scudetto.”
