Burnley vs Leicester City Preview

Burnley, last season’s Football League Championship winners, has been mercurial in their last six outings with three wins and three losses. The team is settled in the 13th spot of the English top flight table at the moment, 10 points above the bottom three relegation zone and tied on points with AFC Bournemouth but has a lesser goal differential.
The Clarets lost a highly disappointing 1-2 game to a 10-man Arsenal squad at the last minute in a match held at the Emirates Stadium on Jan. 22, The Guardian reported.
It was a tight contest right from the start as both teams failed to score a goal in the first half of the match. It was until German defender Shkodran Mustafi netted a goal off Mesut Özil’s corner kick that the deadlock was broken in the 59th minute.
Head coach Sean Dyche’s side caught a break in the 65th minute when Granit Xhaka was booked with a straight red card following a tough challenge on Steven Defour, giving Burnley a one-man advantage for the rest of the game.
Burnley was able to equalize three minutes into stoppage time with a goal by Andre Gray, but Alexis Sanchez converted a penalty kick five minutes later to defeat the visitors.

Meanwhile, Leicester City lost two in a row after being crushed by Southampton, 0-3, at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Jan. 22, as per the Telegraph.
James Ward-Prowse, Jay Rodriguez, and Dusan Tadic netted the goals for the Saints in the 26th, 39th, and 86th minutes respectively to hand head coach Claudio Ranieri’s squad their 11th loss of the term.
The Foxes are now 15th in the overall standings, only five points above the bottom three relegation area.
