Atletico Madrid look for their first win of the season when they travel to face Celta Vigo on the match day three of 2016/17 Spanish La Liga season on Saturday afternoon.

Diego Simeone’s men were held to draws in each of their two opening games of the new season. It is far for disappointing as both results were against the newly promotes sides, Deportivo Alaves and Leganes. They are already 4 points behind arch rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona and the Argentine will be desperate to see his side bounce back with a win to stay in the title race.

Celta Vigo are also searching for the first win of the season. They were defeated at home 1-0 by the newly promoted side Leganes on the opening match day. They put up a much improved performance in the second fixture against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. The game was all set to end in a draw, but the Blaugrana eventually got out of jail with a 2-1 win aided by a late strike from Toni Kroos.

Celta Vigo vs Atletico Madrid: Head-to-Head

Atletico Madrid have won in each of the two La Liga clashes of the 2015/16 season by the same 2-0 margin. They also met in the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey in which Celta earned a surprise win at Madrid before holding Atletico to a goal-less draw at home.

Celta Vigo have managed only one win in the last five meetings at home against Atletico Madrid. While they lost three and drawn one. Celta have also failed to score in three of the last four home matches against Atletico.

Celta Vigo vs Atletico Madrid: Prediction

Both teams are looking for the first win of the season after dropping points in their opening two games. Atletico Madrid were thoroughly disappointing in the 1-1 draw against Alaves and goal-less draw against Leganes. While Celta Vigo have shown that they are no pushovers with a strong showing in the 2-1 loss to Real Madrid after a shock 1-0 defeat at Leganes at home on the opening day.

I believe Celta Vigo are under no sorts of pressure and they have the momentum at the moment. Also, they have pulled off some surprise results at home last season and are generally strong in home games. They might not get a win here, but might come out with a draw.

I will also go with my correct score prediction of 1-1 draw at 11/2 (6.50).
