Dinamo Tbilisi vs Alashkert

Georgian record title winners Dinamo Tbilisi doesn’t expect an easy run against Armenian Champions Alashkert. Dinamo Tbilisi have vast experience playing in UEFA competitions, while Alashkert are relatively new comers into the scene.

The Georgians have a strong record at home while their opponents are not very comfortable playing away from home. Alashkert were held to a 0-0 draw by FC Santa Coloma from Andorra in the away leg of the first round qualifying round, but were comfortable 3-0 winners in the return leg back at home. They will be coming with a defensive mentality against a strong opponent and I believe goals will be at premium in this match.

Dinamo Tbilisi to win is my prediction and I will also consider under 2.5 goals for this match.

  • Dinamo Tbilisi to win @ 1.40

Zrinjski Mostar vs Legia Warsaw

The Polish side Legia Warsaw are no strangers in European football scene. Many may expect them to do well against Zrinjski Mostar, a relatively unknown side from Bosnia. But Legia’s recent form is not that great and were found stuttering at the end of Polish League season campaign. They suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Lech Poznan in the Polish Super Cup last Wednesday and lost a friendly to CSKA Moscow a week ago.

Zrinjski Mostar on the other hand haven’t lost in their last 12 matches in all competitions and are capable of mounting an upset against Legia. They are also coming on the back of 5 home wins in a row and will be highly motivated to make it to the next round.

I like to go against the odds here and back Zrinjski to get something out of this game and will be backing them on a double chance to get a win or a draw.

  • Double Chance – Zrinjski/Draw @ 1.90

BATE vs SJK

BATE Borisov in recent times have a pedigree of making it into the final rounds of UEFA Champions League. They were in the group stages in four of the last five seasons and they are sure favourites to win this second round qualification fixture against the Finnish side SJK.

SJK are making it this far for the first time this far in Europe’s elite competition after winning the Finnish league last season. Their current form in this season’s Finnish Veikkausliiga is pretty poor and are 7th in the standings after 17 games. Their main problem is a poor defense and a side like BATE must not have problems in eliminating them.

My prediction for this game is a straight win for BATE and I also expect them to get an early lead. Backing them to win over both halves is my preferred tip for this game.

  • Bate/Bate (HT/FT) @ 1.80

Vardar vs Dinamo Zagreb

The Croatian Champions Dinamo Zagreb are clear favorites to get a win at Skopje on Tuesday night against the Macedonian Champions Vardar. Dinamo had made it into the final stages of UEFA competitions in each of the last 9 seasons. Especially their win against Arsenal in last season’s Champions League group stage will be still fresh in the memory.

Vardar are not on a bad run at the moment, but the visiting Dinamo Zagreb are a quality side and I expect them to get a straight win in this fixture.

  • Dinamo Zagreb to win @ 1.85
