Chelsea vs Swansea City Preview and Prediction
Chelsea has been struggling in their past few matches with three winless performances in their last six outings. The team was able to remain on top of the league table, though, as the other contenders behind have also suffered losses in the said period. They are now eight points ahead of closest pursuer Manchester City.
In their last Premier League fixture on Feb. 12, the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by newly-promoted side Burnley on the road at the Turf Moor, as per BBC Sport.
Spanish winger Pedro scored the opening goal of the match in the seventh minute with a shot from the outside of the box off an assist by Nigerian midfielder Victor Moses.
However, Burnley’s new signing, Irish forward Robbie Brady, was able to find the equalizer in the 24th minute with a left-footed shot from 25 yards, scoring in his debut game for the Clarets.
Both teams went scoreless after that as the hosts forced the tie on head coach Antonio Conte’s squad.
Meanwhile, Swansea City has won four of their last six games to move up and away from the bottom three relegation area where they had been for most of the season. The team is now 15th in the 20-team league standings, four points above the relegation zone.
The Swans are coming off a 2-0 blanking of defending champions Leicester City at their home ground of Liberty Stadium also on Feb. 12, the Telegraph reported.
Defenders Alfie Mawson and Martin Olsson provided the two goals for head coach Paul Clement’s side in the 36th and 45th+2 minutes of the contest respectively.
