As the World Cup qualification game for European countries goes on, Czech Republic will host Northern Ireland at General Arena.

Czech Republic left the European Summer Championship game with shame, they were booted off the group stage with 1 point. They were without a win in the competition, as they lost to Spain and Turkey. The only point they scored came from a 2-2 draw against Croatia in their second game. However Czech seem to have woken up, they did well to smash Armenia 3-0 in a friendly game on Wednesday. Now they hope for a repeat of that performance in their WC qualifying game.

Northern Ireland were a bit better than their host in the European summer Championship, they advanced to the knockout stages. N. Ireland were among the best loosers after the group stage, they lost 2 games in the group stages against Poland and Germany. Their only win in the competition was 2-0 win against Ukraine, but they lost 1-0 to Wales in the 2nd round of the competition.

Czech Republic vs Northern Ireland: Head-to-Head

The last game played between this two teams was a 0-0 stalemate in 2009, they also played out a goalless draw in 2008 prior to that game. Both teams have played a total 4 games in the past, which have seen Czech claim 2 victories and the remaining 2 ended in draw. Czech have never lost to N. Ireland, also they have conceded only 1 goal against the Irish side.

Czech Republic vs Northern Ireland: Prediction

This game will be a tough one, none of the team is seen as favorites, thus its hard to predict an outright winner. Czech’s may have shown their quality against Armenia, but N. Ireland can’t be written off easily. Both teams have won just once in their last 5 games and they seem to have a little problem in scoring.
