Darmstadt vs Borussia Dortmund Preview

Darmstadt has continued to struggle this season as the team only has two wins to show after 19 rounds of competitions. They are in the bottom of the 18-team German top flight table at the moment, six points behind closest rival FC Ingolstadt at 17th place.
Die Lilien was blanked by third-running team Eintracht Frankfurt, 0-2, last Sunday on the road at the Commerzbank Arena for their second straight loss, as per Channel News Asia.
Head coach Torsten Frings’ squad were able to keep the game goalless at the break but was not able to stop the hosts from netting two in the second half, courtesy of Japanese midfielder Makoto Hasebe and Croatian forward Ante Rebic in the 74th and 83rd minutes.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund, last season’s Bundesliga runners-up, has won two of their last three games to move up to fourth place in the overall standings, only one game behind Eintracht Frankfurt and tied on points with fifth-place squad Hoffenheim but has a higher goal differential.

Die Borussen nipped second-place team RB Leipzig, 1-0, at their home ground of Signal Iduna Park last Saturday, Daily Mail Online reported.
Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was returning from his recent international stint in the African Cup of Nations, scored the winning goal for head coach Thomas Tuchel’s side with a close-range header in the 35th minute. The assist came from French midfielder Ousmane Dembélé.
Both sides went scoreless from there as Dortmund handed the newly-promoted squad only their third loss this season so far.
