Deportivo La Coruna is struggling right now as the team has been winless in their last four matches. They have won only once in the last six rounds and have dropped to the 16th spot of the 20-team Spanish top flight table, only six points above the bottom three relegation area.
The Branquiazuis are coming off a disappointing 1-3 loss to middling squad Eibar on the road at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium last Saturday, as per Sofa Score.
Eibar netted the first two goals of the contest, courtesy of Adrian Gonzalez and Sergi Enrich in the fourth and 15th minutes, to zoom ahead with a 2-0 lead early in the match.
Head coach Gaizka Garitano’s boys were able to respond in the 19th minute with a header from the center of the box by Emre Colak off a cross by Carles Gil to trim the gap to one point.
However, Deportivo was not able to score again as Eibar defender Florian Lejeune sealed the game in the 72nd minute.
Meanwhile, Real Betis pulled off a stunning 1-1 draw versus the defending champions Barcelona at their home ground of Benito Villamarín Stadium last Sunday, The Guardian reported.
Head coach Víctor Sánchez’s squad was able to hold Barça to a goalless draw at the end of the first half before striker Alex Alegria broke the deadlock in the 75th minute with a close-range shot.
However, Barcelona was able to find the equalizer at the stroke of full-time via a strike by Luis Suárez as the two teams settled for the tie and a share of a point in the standings.
