Dijon Preview

Dijon fought back from one-goal down to secure a 2-3 away victory at Lorient, but they were pretty lucky as the hosts missed a penalty in the 75th minute. However, their five-game unbeaten streak across all competitions ended in midweek, as they lost 2-1 on the road against Bordeaux in Coupe de France. The minnows can now just focus on their Ligue 1 campaign, as they find themselves only in 13th spot in the standings tied on 24 points with the fellow newcomers Nancy. Dijon managed an impressive tally of 30 goals in 22 rounds, but they really struggled at the other end of the field. They have conceded 32 goals so far this season, which is one of the worst defensive records in the league. On home soil, Dijon have endured a mixed run of form over the past three months, registering three defeats, three draws and one win in their last seven home games across all competitions. Head-to-head, Dijon have lost the last three meetings with Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture. Lois Diony and Julio Tavares are Dijon’s topscorer as the moment with six goals each, while Pierre Lees Melou has helped the team with 5 goals and 2 assists in his 19 league appearances.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN PREVIEW

On the contrary, Paris Saint-Germain come into this clash on the back of a nine-game unbeaten run across all competitions, winning eight and drawing once in this term. Les Parisiens were held to a 1-1 home draw by Monaco last time out, but bounced back with an impressive 0-4 victory on the road at Rennes in Coupe de France in midweek. PSG find themselves only in third position in the league table with 46 points to their name after 22 rounds, just three points off the joint-leaders Nice and Monaco. Despite their position in the standings, PSG still hold the second-best defensive record in the division with just 16 goals conceded in 22 league fixtures. At the other end of the field, PSG managed a decent tally of 42 goals in 22 rounds, but they only scored four goals in their last three league games. Edinson Cavani has enjoyed a fantastic Ligue 1 campaign so far this season, as the 29-year-old striker is currently leading the league’s goalscoring charts with 21 goals in his 20 league appearances. PSG’s recent away form has been impeccable as they have won the last five games across all competitions, scoring at least two goals in four of these. In addition, PSG picked up victories in their last two visits to the Stade Gaston-Gerard, conceding just one goal in the process.

Dijon Team News

Fouad Chafik is the only doubtful player for Dijon ahead of this game.

Paris Saint-Germain Team News

Kevin Trapp and Marco Verratti are both missing through injury, while Angel Di Maria and Grzegorz Krychowiak are both doubts.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Paris Saint-Germain should have no problems to pick up all three points in this one, as their recent form has seen them winning eight of their last nine games across all competitions, conceding just one goal in the process. In addition, PSG have won four of their last five meetings with Dijon in all competitions. I’m backing PSG to win and to keep a clean sheet in this one.
