Espanyol vs Sevilla Preview

Espanyol has been struggling as of late with only two wins in their last six outings. The team is currently settled in the ninth spot of the 20-team Spanish top flight table, five points behind sixth-running squad Villarreal who holds the second and final Europa League qualifying berth for next season.
Los Periquitos snapped a three-game winless slide with a 3-1 victory over bottom three team Granada last Saturday also at the Cornellà-El Prat Stadium, as per AS English.
Spanish midfielder Jose Antonio Reyes opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Granada midfielder Andreas Pereira was able to equalize in the 23rd with a free kick.
However, head coach Quique Sánchez Flores’s side netted the next two goals of the contest, courtesy of Pablo Piatti and Marc Navarro in the 32nd and 48th minutes, to come away with the win and the three points in the standings.
Meanwhile, Sevilla has extended their winning streak to five games after turning back a tough challenge from cellar-dwellers Osasuna, 4-3, on the road at the El Sadar Stadium last Sunday, Sport English reported.

Team captain Vicente Iborra scored a brace to lead head coach Jorge Sampaoli’s squad in their four-goal haul.
Osasuna drew first blood with a goal by Sergio Leon in the 15th minute before Iborra leveled the count with his first goal in the 43rd. An own goal by Iborra in the 63rd gave the lead back to Osasuna before Spanish midfielder equalized it again with a second goal for Sevilla two minutes later.
Franco Vazquez gave Sevilla the lead in the 80th before Pablo Sarabia made it a 4-2 count two minutes into stoppage time. Osasuna forward Kenan Kodro scored a goal in the next minute for the final score.
