Stade Louis II will host the Ligue 1 derby between Monaco and Marseille. Les Rouges et Blancs are desperate to return to winning ways in the league and it remains to be seen if they are capable of recording a win that should help them retain their place in top four.

Monaco did remarkably well to beat PSG at Parc des Princes in March, but they have been struggling to find their best form ever since. Following a shocking 2-1 loss to Bordeaux, les Rouges et Blancs were hammered by Lille 4-1 at the weekend and, as a result, their participation in the Champions League is in danger. Leonardo Jardim’s men are just one point clear of fourth-placed Nice, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for the hosts. Monaco are eyeing their eighth home win of the season and given Marseille’s poor form, I believe that there is a certain value in betting on Leonardo Jardim’s charges. Midfielder Joao Moutinho is fit and the Portuguese international, who has recently overcome his injury, will be the man to watch in the home team.

Echiejile misses the match through suspension, while the likes of Fabio Coentrao, Pasalic and Traore are all sidelined with injury. Leonardo Jardim has no other selection worries.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Subasic – Jemerson, Raggi, Carvalho, Costa – Fabinho, Toulalan – Dirar, Moutinho, Lemar – Vagner Love.

Marseille, on the other hand, are having a season to forget. OM sit in 14th place in the Ligue 1 standings and they will be more than happy should they happen to secure yet another top flight survival. Michel’s men played out a goalless draw with Bordeaux at the weekend and they are on a nine-game winless run in the Ligue 1 ahead of the trip to Monaco. The lack of confidence is undisputedly the team’s biggest problem and seeing that Sunday’s game is of big importance for the hosts, there is every chance Marseille will return home empty-handed. OM failed to keep a clean sheet in last four away games in the national championship and, taking everything into account, Michel’s troops are unlikely to spoil Monaco’s party at Stade Louis II on Sunday evening. You should have in mind that Monaco recorded a 1-0 win over Marseille in their last meetings at Stade Louis II.

Romain Alessandrini is sidelined through suspension, while the likes of Mauricio Isla, Lassana Diarra and Stephane Sparagna all miss the trip to Monaco with injury. January signing Fletcher is likely to lead the line for the visitors.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Mandanda – Manquillo, N’Koulou, Rekik, Mendy – Lucas, Romao – Cabella, Sarr, Thauvin – Fletcher.
