The knockout stage of CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019 starts with the quarterfinals to be played in this Thursday, June 27th. The eight qualified teams will compete to get the semi-finals of the tournament.

Brazil vs. Paraguay (June 27th, 21:30hrs., Brasilia)
The last confrontation between the Brazilian and Paraguayan national teams in CONMEBOL Copa América was also by quarterfinals and on June 27th 2015. On that occasion, the “Albirroja” qualified to the semifinals after penalties.
Paraguay has four games without defeats against Brazil in the CONMEBOL Copa América: one victory and three draws, the last two in quarterfinals also, with the Guaraní team qualifying for the next phase.
Brazil reaches the quarterfinals, though against Paraguay they have only lost two of their 38 home games in all competitions, winning 26 and drawing 10.
The match will start at 9:30 pm, local time, at the Arena do Gremio stadium in Porto Alegre.
Venezuela vs. Argentina (June 28th, 4 pm, Brasilia)
Encouraged by its qualification to the quarterfinals as the second team in Group A, Venezuela reaches this stage of the tournament with great expectation by facing the 14-time winner of the tournament, Argentina.
La Albiceleste won five times against La Vinotinto in the CONMEBOL Copa América. Argentina has scored 28 goals and Venezuela 3.
It will be the second time that Argentina and Venezuela face each other in a CONMEBOL Copa América knockout stage; previously hey played against each other in the quarterfinals of the CONMEBOL Copa América Centenario, with an argentinan victory (4-1).
The team coached by Rafael Dudamel has three unbeaten matches against Argentina in all competitions with one victory and two draws. In the past, Venezuela had lost 20 of their previous 21 matches.
The match Will start on June 28th at 4 p.m. local time at Maracaná, in Rio de Janeiro.
Colombia vs. Chile (June 28th, 8 pm, Brasilia)
After the perfect score of nine points (3 wins against Argentina, Qatar and Paraguay), Colombia is in the quarter-finals to face the current two-time champion of the tournament, Chile.
Chile is the team that has beaten Colombia most times in CONMEBOL Copa América; “La Roja” has won eight games against the Cafeteros in the competition, with two draws and two Colombian victories.
Both teams have met three times in the knockout stage matches in CONMEBOL Copa América and Chile always beat Colombia: 2-1 in the 1987 semifinal, 3-2 in the 1999 quarterfinals and 2-0 in the 2016 semifinal.
The match will be played on Thursday, June 28th, at 8 p.m. local time.
Uruguay vs. Peru (June 29th, 4 p.m., Brasilia)
The Uruguay national team, the most winning team of CONMEBOL Copa América with 15 trophies will face Peru on Saturday June 29th in the last quarter-final game of the tournament.
While La Celeste advanced to the quarter-finals leading the Group C, the Incas reach this stage as one of the best two thirds ones of the tournament, after taking that position in Group A, behind Brazil and Venezuela.
Uruguay defeated Peru in just one of their last five CONMEBOL Copa América matches, with two draws and two wins for Peru. The Charrúa victory was the most recent confrontation, 2-0 in the 2011 semi-final.
However, Uruguay beat Peru in 12 of their 20 CONMEBOL Copa América matches, with two draws and six Peruvian victories. Meanwhile, 70 years ago, Peru defeated Uruguay the only time they met in Brazil, 4-3 in the 1949 CONMEBOL Copa America.
Despite Peru’s negative record against Uruguay, coach Ricardo Gareca has only lost one of his last eight CONMEBOL Copa América matches and it was his most recent game, 5-0 to Brazil.
It will be a scorer’s duel.One of them is Paolo Guerrero, who has scored 12 of the 26 Peru’s goals in CONMEBOL Copa América after scoring his first one in 2007 against Uruguay. Uruguay has Luis Suarez, who has scored six goals against Peru in all competitions.
