No. 154 in the league

Sunday’s game will be the 154th league meeting between the two sides. Roma lead the standings with 65 victories, with Lazio having won 46. The derby has ended in a draw on 62 occasions. If we divide things down to only league derbies where the Giallorossi were the ‘home’ side, the record reads: 29 Roma wins, 15 Lazio wins, 32 draws.

Last time out

In this fixture last season, Roma won out 3-1 at the Olimpico. Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the scoring with a backheel, before Ciro Immobile equalised. Aleksandar Kolarov fired home a free-kick, however, and Federico Fazio’s header clinched victory.

Red card crazy

Since 2000, derby matches have seen an impressive total of 24 red cards – at least two more than any other game in Europe’s top five leagues.

Top scorers against Lazio

Dino Da Costa and Francesco Totti share the spot at the top of these particular standings, with 11 goals apiece. Rodolfo Volk and Marco Delvecchio follow that due, with nine.

Roma against Simone Inzaghi

The Giallorossi have faced the Biancocelesti boss on no fewer than nine occasions – winning four, and losing three.

Goals in a row

Between 1956-59 Dino Da Costa scored in eight straight derby matches (including two in the Coppa Italia), scoring 11 goals in total. The forward also scored against Lazio back in 1955 – but that was a friendly.

Goals in a row… by season

This record goes to Marco Delvecchio – who scored at least once in the derby in six straight seasons, from 1997-98 until 2002-03.
