Premier League have confirmed that four of the 1,008 coronavirus tests done this week have returned positive results.


Players and other members of staff have been tested, and the four positives come from three different clubs.The Premier League have chosen not to reveal the individuals’ identities.Last week, eight of the 1,750 tests undertaken returned positive results.

Clubs will see the numbers of tests they receive increase from 50 to 60, with a second round of testing to come later this week.Those infected will now spend seven days in self-isolation.

The news comes on the same day that the decision to return to contact training was approved and a day ahead of a meeting between the Premier League and its clubs to continue talks about ‘Project Restart’.
