PERSONAL SUMMARY
It’s paradise working here, we’ve done a great job. These 18 months at Milan have taken their toll and perhaps, at times, I wasn’t good enough at dealing with the pressure. I never felt just like a Coach, but rather I felt everything. Only at this club will I experience this. For the umpteenth time, I want to thank the club hierarchy. There’s great respect there. I must give credit to Milan for what they’ve given me. We’ve always been in contact, as you do in a big club.

THE CLUB
I’ve always said the truth. Milan is in great hands, there’s a strong hierarchy consisting of talented individuals. I’ll speak with the club over the next few days and we’ll make the necessary evaluations. I’m not alone, I have 10 people behind me who give me their all and who I put through the mill on a daily basis. We need to talk to each other and look to see in which direction we want to go and what type of football we want to play. There’s always been frankness with Gazidis, Leonardo and Maldini, I’ve always said how this team could be improved. We haven’t been in the Champions League for many years now. There’s plenty of expectations and a huge amount of responsibility. I like to have players capable of playing a certain type of football.

THE TEAM
This team has big margins for improvement, people who bring certain things to the dressing room are needed. The team is young, some more experienced people are needed. You don’t just need to skill to send a team out and have it express itself at its best. Today, you can drop lots of points due to certain behaviours. These guys have given me a lot, the greatest disappointment is missing out on the Champions League by a point. After the derby, we lost our spirit.

THE FANS
I spoke about it with Maldini before arriving at the stadium. We were discussing how they’ve always behaved in the right way. They’ve always supported us, we’ve had over a million fans in at San Siro across the league and European competition. I’ve always loved the Milan fans, they always show great encouragement. They deserve praise.
