Germany start the international year with five FC Bayern pros. Captain Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Süle, Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry have been called up for Germany’s 23-strong squad for the friendly against Serbia in Wolfsburg on 20 March and the first EURO 2020 qualifier against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on 24 March. Germany’s other group opponents are Northern Ireland, Belarus and Estonia.

Coman set for Comeback

There is good news for Kingsley Coman. After a long injury spell with two syndesmosis ligament tears, the winger has been called up for France for the first time in more than a year. Coach Didier Deschamps has called up the 22-year-old for the reigning world champions’ two Euro qualifiers away to Moldavia on 22 March and against Iceland in Paris three days later.

Alaba vs Lewandowski

David Alaba and Austria start their qualification campaign against Poland with Robert Lewandowski at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on 21 March. Austria face Israel, coached by former Bayern pro Andreas Herzog, in Haifa on 24 March. On the same day Lewandowski and Poland take on Latvia in Warsaw in their second qualifier.

Long journeys for James and Davies

James Rodríguez and Alphonso Davies are in for the longest journeys. James and Colombia contest two friendlies against Japan in Yokohama on 22 March and South Korea in Seoul on 26 March. Davies and Canada take on French Guiana in a Concacaf Nations League qualifier in Vancouver on 24 March.
