Liverpool star gets the nod ahead of Mohamed Salah with the armband for Liverpool’s Double Gameweek
Sadio Mane (£12.4m) has been chosen ahead of his team-mate Mohamed Salah (£12.4m) as the most-selected captain and Triple Captain in Fantasy Premier League for Liverpool’s Double Gameweek.
Liverpool face both Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United in Gameweek 24.
Over one million FPL managers handed Mane the armband, with an additional 270,000+ using their Triple Captain chip on the Senegal international.
Salah follows close behind. More than 944,000 people picked the Egyptian as their captain, and another 220,000 trusted him with their Triple Captain chip.
Despite having just one fixture, Jamie Vardy (£10.0m) is the third most-popular choice.
Over 745,000 managers are hoping the Leicester City forward can redeem himself against West Ham on Wednesday after his missed penalty and zero-point return at Burnley on Sunday.
The top 100 FPL managers have chosen exclusively Liverpool players for their captains, with Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.6m) replacing Vardy as their third most-popular choice.
Liverpool have kept seven clean sheets in a row, while Alexander-Arnold has supplied 11 assists and scored two goals this season.
More than 625,000 FPL managers are using their Triple Captain chip in Double Gameweek 24, and the vast majority of them have opted for Liverpool players.
The same trio selected by the top 100 FPL managers for the captaincy have been the players most entrusted with the Triple Captain chip.
For the second successive Gameweek, Marcus Rashford (£9.0m) has been the most-sold player, with over 658,000 shipping out the injured Manchester United forward.
Vardy’s disappointing Gameweek 23 return prompted 290,000+ FPL managers to part company with the 33-year-old forward.
It is a decision they could regret given that his opponents on Wednesday, West Ham, have conceded 13 big chances in their last four matches.
Only Aston Villa and Newcastle United have been more generous.
Tammy Abraham (£7.8m) completed the top three transfers out.
Those who dispensed with the Chelsea striker’s services missed out on five points against Arsenal, although Abraham did appear to pick up an injury towards the end of Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea also face a tricky run of matches, with their next three opponents all scoring four in the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR).
The top three players sold are all forwards, and more than 390,000 have made a straight swap to Roberto Firmino (£9.5m).
Both of Liverpool’s matches in Gameweek 24 are away from home, and the Brazilian has netted seven times on the road this season, more than Mane and Salah combined.
After back-to-back double-figure hauls, Sergio Aguero (£11.9m) gained over 302,000 new owners.
And he did not disappoint on Tuesday night, coming off the bench to score his seventh goal in four Premier League matches as Manchester City beat Sheffield United 1-0.
Salah has been the third most-bought player, with FPL managers loading up on Liverpool assets.
