English Premier League Champions Leicester City will travel to KSC Stadium on Saturday afternoon to play against Hull City to kick-off the first game of the 2016/2017 premier League Campaign.

Hull have had an earthquake of events this summer, they lost Steve Bruce as their manager just few weeks before the new season, and they are et to find a successor. They have no new arrivals in their playing staff and have let Mohamed Diame leave the club. The Tigers need to act fast to avoid a disastrous season.

The defending Champions will enter the game high on confidence, aiming not to do a “Chelsea” like season. Claudio Ranieri will hope to deal with the pressure and keep his team in the top 4 this season to show that last season’s success wasn’t a fluke.

Hull City: Team News

The Tigers have a lot of injury concerns, they will start the season in a weaker manner than they did last year. Allan McGregor, Alex Bruce and Moses Odubajo are all injured and will miss the game.

Leicester City: Team News

Yohan Benalouane and Matty James are ruled out of the game based on injury. Mendy is set for his premier league debut while Musa will start alongside Vardy.

Hull City vs Leicester City: Head to Head statistics

  • Only 15 games have played between these two sides, the Tigers have won 5 games while the reigning Champions have won 6 games.
  • Their last 2 games between these sides have ended in goalless draw.
  • Both teams have won 3 games each at KCOM Stadium.

Hull City vs Leicester City: Prediction

Tigers seem to have prepared well but the internal crises in the team may affect the player’s emotion and confidence.

Leicester’s pre-season games have been nothing to write home about, they lost 3 of their 4 games which includes a 4-0 thrashing by PSG and 4-2 defeat to Barcelona.

I expect the Champions to kick-start the season with a win in this game considering Hull’s crises and also I predict a low turnout of goals.
