Inter vs Roma Preview and Prediction

Stefano Pioli’s Inter Milan welcome Luciano Spalletti’s Roma to the San Siro this Sunday for a tasty Serie A matchup. Inter currently occupy fourth place in the table, whilst Roma sit second. With the Yellow and Reds seven points adrift of leaders Juventus, they can’t afford any slip ups in this one.

However, it’s the Black and Blues who are the bookies’ favourites, having lost just one of their 12 home league matches this term. Will Inter keep up their good recent record, or can the away side nick a priceless win?

Analysis

Pioli’s men are in really good form at present. Inter go into this huge clash with Roma having won nine of their last 10 Serie A matches. Their only defeat during that time was a 1-0 loss at league leaders Juve. After another testing season for Inter at the San Siro, Pioli certainly has this famous club on the up again. A win on Sunday would take them to within five points of their visitors in the table.

Roma are also a side in fine fettle at the moment. Spalletti’s troops have won nine of their last 10 in all competitions, and have only been beaten twice in the league in the last couple of months. Putting Juve to one side, these two are without doubt the in-form sides in the division. When the pair met in Rome back in October, Roma won 2-1 with an own goal by Mauro Icardi gifting the points to the home team.

With the way these two have been playing of late, we’re predicting an extremely close encounter on Sunday. Like we said, Inter have only been beaten once on their own patch, whilst Roma have won half of their away matches. Therefore, we fancy this one to end all square in Milan. BetVictor are offering 5/2 for the draw. If there’s one thing you can almost guarantee on Sunday, it’s goals – these two have netted 94 between them already this season. Therefore, we feel it’s worth taking a look at Betfred’s 10/3 for the draw and both teams to score.
