Jorginho twice went close for Italy before they scored a dramatic late winner to beat Poland 1-0 in the UEFA Nations League.

Our midfielder struck a beautiful, curling long-range effort inside the first minute that flew past Wojciech Szcsesny only to rattle the crossbar.

Jorginho set the tempo of the game as Italy dominated throughout, and he nearly broke the deadlock before half-time but saw an effort from closer in palmed away by the Polish keeper (pictured top). Lorenzo Insigne also hit the bar for Italy who wasted several other chances before finally breaking through in the 92nd minute, Cristiano Beraghi converting from a corner in Chorzow.

The outcome means Italy still have a chance of finishing top in Group 3 of UEFA Nations League A. They have four points from three games, behind Portugal who have won both of their matches so far.

Emerson Palmieri was an unused substitute for the Italians.

Earlier on Sunday, Academy youngster Valentino Livramento played the first half of England Under-17s’ comfortable 3-0 victory over Russia in Shrewsbury. All the goals were scored when our right-back was on the pitch. England have a third game in five days when they play Brazil on Tuesday.
