Juventus vs Napoli Preview and Prediction

Juventus continue their push for the treble when they host Napoli on Tuesday night. The away side’s fans have been banned ahead of this trip, due to the volatile clashes between them in the past. That makes this game even more difficult for the Partenopei, who are aiming to record a strong finish by winning the Italian Cup. The competition for this trophy is fierce, with the top three and Lazio in the semis. That should give us two fantastic ties in the Coppa Italia this week, starting with this clash at Juventus Stadium.

The rivalry between these two only grew in the summer, when Gonzalo Higuain moved from Napoli to Juve in the summer. Taking their star striker didn’t go down well with the Partenopei fans. Signing the Argentine for £75million was supposed to kick on the Italian champions to the next level, and they look to be serious contenders in Europe this term. The Old Lady seem to have this season’s Scudetto wrapped up, and they’ll be aiming to retain the Coppa Italia too. Can they take a huge step towards the final with a victory on Tuesday night?

Napoli come here on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Atalanta, which has blown the Champions League race wide open. Their place in the top three is far from assured, despite their impressive displays in Europe this season. That loss can’t have done much for morale, and they’ve got very little time to recover ahead of one of their biggest games of the campaign. The Partenopei face a Juventus team who haven’t lost in their last 43 matches at this ground, a run which stretches back to September 2015.

Juve have been fantastic at their ground this season, winning 100% of their home league games. They’ve now won 11 straight games here in all competitions, including their two Coppa Italia games this season. The hosts have been in excellent form since making a tactical change after their last defeat. Max Allegri had a rethink after losing 2-1 at Fiorentina, and their new 4-2-3-1 set up has led to nine straight wins, conceding just twice and scoring 19 times in return.

That form should see them beat Napoli, especially as they’re trying to recover from that defeat against Atalanta. Juventus have an excellent record in this fixture, with the Partenopei losing their last five trips to the champions. The hosts have been through some difficult ties in this season’s competition, having seen off AC Milan and Atalanta already. That’s why we’re backing Juve to win, which is priced at 3/4 with bet365.
