Meanwhile, Fiorentina snapped a two-game winning run after losing to middling squad Genoa, 0-1, on Thursday on the road at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium as the two teams resumed their postponed match after three months, USA Today reported.
Serbian midfielder Darko Lazovic provided the lone goal of the contest for the hosts as head coach Paulo Sousa’s squad failed to score in the entire match.
It was Viola’s second loss in the last four rounds as the team remained in the seventh spot of the league table.
