Liverpool started their Premier League campaign with an impressive 4-3 away victory over Arsenal at the Emirates. When everyone thought this is going to be a productive season for the Reds, they were seen out of sorts against the newly promoted Burnley and ended up losing 2-0. And just before the international break, they went to Tottenham and returned with the share of the spoils after earning a hard fought 1-1. If one has to summarize Liverpool’s performance in the opening three weeks of the new season, it must be ‘inconsistent’.
While Leicester City were dealt a huge blow in the opening day of the season as they lost 2-1 to the newly promoted Hull City, who had all sorts of problems on and off the field. In the subsequent week, they drew blank with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal. They finally got their first win of the season at the expense of Swansea City. Claudio Ranieri’s hardly look like the team that won the 2015/16 Premier League title. Also a similar feat like last season is least expected from them. But they need to start getting out in the field without the burden of expectation.
