Rising contenders Manchester United FC (11-3-6, 39 points) will look to extend a six-game winning streak as they face title favorites Liverpool FC (13-2-5, 44 points) at their home field of Old Trafford on Jan. 15, Sunday as round 21 of the 2016-2017 Premier League season concludes.

Manchester United has been undefeated in 11 straight games with their previous loss coming in late October against current league leaders Chelsea. The team is now in the sixth place in the overall standings, two points behind Arsenal and the Europa League qualifying berth and three points below Manchester City and the final Champions League spot for next season.
The Red Devils blanked struggling squad West Ham United, 2-0, on the road at the London Stadium on Jan. 2, as per SkySports.
West Ham midfielder Sofiane Feghouli was sent off early in the 15th minute after a hard foul on United defender Phil Jones, giving head coach Jose Mourinho’s side a one-man advantage for the rest of the game.
However, it took United until the 63rd minute to break the deadlock with a goal by substitute winger Juan Mata from a pass by another super-sub, Marcus Rashford, who replaced striker Jesse Lingard as center-forward in the 58th.
Swede striker Zlatan Ibrahimović then sealed the win with a controversial goal in the 78th minute from what said to be was an offside position.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is looking to go back to winning form after their four-game winning run was snapped also on Jan. 2 in a 2-2 draw with bottom three club Sunderland on the road at the Stadium of Light, the Telegraph reported.
It was a lackluster performance for head coach Jürgen Klopp’s squad as the team allowed the lowly Black Cats to answer back every time they scored a goal.
Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring for the Reds in the 19th minute, but the count was quickly equalized by Jermain Defoe six minutes later.
Sadio Mane grabbed the lead back for Liverpool in the 72nd, but Defoe netted his second of the match with another spot kick in the 84th to salvage the tie and a share of a point in the standings.
