Manchester United will be hosting Southampton at Old Trafford on Friday night, as Jose Mourinho will play his first Premier League game at Old Trafford as United Manager.

United were impressive in their opening game of the season which was Mourinho’s first Premier League game as United Manager. The Red Devils enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win Over Bournemouth away at Vitality Stadium, a win that kept them top of the table.

Mourinho’s starting IX was full of surprises, he picked Mata and Fellaini which kept critics mute. Mata gave United the lead via a loose pass, later the Skipper Rooney made it 2 before Zlatan’s 20 yards low shot made it 3. Bournemouth pulled 1 goal back through Adam Smith but it wasn’t enough for the the home teams.

Southampton shared points with Watford in their opening game of the 2016/2017 campaign, helping the new boss to avoid defeat in his first game. Watford took the lead in the first 45 minutes, with Capoue scoring his first goal for the visiting team.

The Saints bounced back in the second half, as Nathan Redmond scored his first Southampton goal on his debut. They now hope to maintain their Old Trafford winning, but that will be difficult with Mourinho in charge.

Manchester United vs Southampton: Prediction

Manchester United are the favourites in this game, considering the quality of the players in their squad. Manchester United have won 7 of their last 8 premier league home games, also they have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 premier league games.

Southampton are undefeated in their last 7 Premier League games, they have won their last 2 games at Old Trafford and are ready for another win.

Manchester United look good for another straight win and they could be backed to strike at least twice here. And once again, favouring Zlatan to score any time during the match is worth the risk.
