MILAN – Giuseppe Marotta, Inter’s CEO Sport, attended the inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to Arpad Weisz at the Shoah Memorial of Milan and emphasised the importance of the event: “For me, it’s most certainly a source of pride to be here tonight for this laudable initiative, and my intention is to further enhance the collaboration that already exists between the club I represent and the Shoah Memorial.
The aim of this collaboration – which already seems very well-established to me – is mainly to transmit one of the most important values belonging to our humanity – the value of memory. We want to transmit this to all of our players.

“We have about 1000 players, and I know that approximately 400 came here on two occasions last year. At the end of last season, when we asked them how their season had gone and what had been their most significant memory, the most important thing was – and I was told this because I wasn’t at Inter back then – that the majority of the players referred to their visit to the Shoah Memorial. This is a source of great satisfaction.

“Football is a sport but above all a great ‘training ground for life’, and I renew our commitment to trying to do our part to uphold important principles and values.”

Francesco Toldo, leader of the Inter Forever project, was also at the inauguration and had this to say while attending the event: “This is an exhibition that wants to send out a message, including to the players in our Elite Academy. Inter want to make a contribution by transmitting the importance of history, the importance of remembering mistakes that have been made in the past so that they aren’t repeated again. This is an event that our directors and Club have embraced so we continue to remember and never forget. Football should always be a symbol of solidarity.”
