Hasan Salihamidžić (Board Member for Sport): “It’s annoying, of course. We had a very good run of results. Today we’ve slipped up. We had many good chances, but didn’t score enough and our pressing didn’t work well enough. Frankfurt also counter-attacked ruthlessly. We have to take stock of the defeat. When the boys come back from their national teams, we’ll prepare ourselves to win the next game.”

Julian Nagelsmann: “Defeats always hurt. Today’s no exception. On the one hand, because it’s the first one and on the other hand, it was totally avoidable. We didn’t do some things right, just like in recent weeks, but our opponents didn’t take advantage of that. Today we were punished. Still, we had enough chances to score some goals.”

Thomas Müller: “We’re very disappointed, angry or frustrated – I don’t know what the right word is. This is a game that we obviously shouldn’t lose either way, but there was a lack of efficiency. We felt we had a lot of chances to score. It’s relatively annoying that we conceded the equaliser with Frankfurt’s first chance. We weren’t effective in front of goal, nor at the back. The few chances Frankfurt had were enough to score two goals. That’s why we are where we are now. We certainly didn’t do everything right, but in terms of feeling, this is a game you win relatively often. It’s not good, but that won’t deter us going forward.”

Robert Lewandowski: “It hurts that we didn’t win today. We’re all disappointed. We had many chances. We can learn a lot from the defeat.”

Leon Goretzka: “We have to look at ourselves today. We didn’t implement some things as well today as we have in recent weeks. It’s not just our conversion of chances. We have to do better after the international break.”
