REASON FOR NICE VS DIJON BETTING TIPS
Nice were eliminated from the Coupe de la Ligue in midweek as Bordeaux beat them 3-2, but it’s not something that will bother Nice too much at this stage. They find themselves shockingly at the top of Ligue 1, and the cup competitions could well prove an unhelpful distraction in their quest to topple the previously dominant PSG.
Last weekend they faced the reigning champions at the Parc des Princes, and it turned out to be one of the very few occasions where a team leaves the Parc des Princes disappointed with only a draw. Nice were leading 2-0 at half-time but failed to hold off the rush of PSG attacks, with the game eventually ending 2-2.
This kept PSG at arms length in the Ligue 1 table, with the champions sitting 3rd in the table and four points adrift of Nice. Monaco sit in between the sides with just a point less than Nice.
In terms of their Ligue 1 form Nice have obviously been very good. They have only lost once all season and have won 12 of their 17 games. At home they have won seven of their nine games and scored an impressive 21 goals.
Nice were actually expected to decline in quality this season after star player Hatem Ben Arfa left for PSG in the summer, but the emergence of Alassane Plea and their capture of Mario Balotelli have proven to be invaluable. Plea is actually the top scorer in the squad with ten league goals, and the fact he has scored in each of Nice’s last three home games make him a great choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions at 11/10.
Dijon have struggled in the top flight so far, as they were expected to. They lost at home to Marseille last weekend to extend their winless streak to eight games in all competitions, and away from home it gets even worse. They have lost five and drawn three of their eight away days, leaving them just one point above the drop zone in the table.
The bookmakers aren’t offering a lot of value when backing Nice though, and despite their likelihood of winning I think the best bet is the aforementioned Alassane Plea to Score Anytime at 11/10. I’m also going for a 2-0 correct score predictions at 7/1.
