The Nigerians’ opening game in the event will come on 12 August, when they will lock horns with Malaga in a semi-final encounter, with the other semi that same day pitting Atletico against Cadiz. Depending on the results, the African visitors will then contest either the final or the third-place playoff, both of which will be held on the 13th.

The foundations for the NPFL stars’ tour of Spain and involvement in the Ramon de Carranza Trophy were laid by thecollaboration agreement signed in April between LaLiga president Javier Tebas and Shehu Dikko, the chairman of the League Management Company of Nigeria.
