Manchester City’s FA Cup defence is set to resume at the end of June, with the provisional dates for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign now agreed.

The competition had reached the quarter-final stage before football was suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19, with City due to face Newcastle United in the last eight.
That tie will now take place over the weekend of Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June and should we beat the Magpies, the semi-finals are scheduled across the weekend of Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July.
The FA Cup Final will be played on Saturday 1 August.

City’s campaign began with comprehensive home victories over Port Vale and Fulham, who were beaten 4-1 and 4-0 respectively.

The quarter-final stage is an all Premier League affair, with Leicester City hosting Chelsea and Sheffield United welcoming Arsenal to Bramall Lane, whilst Manchester United make the trip to Norwich City.

“This has been a difficult period for many people and, while this is a positive step, the restart date is dependent on all safety measures being met. The health and well-being of players, staff and supporters remains our priority.”
