After two friendly matches against Sainte-Geneviève and Chambly, Paris Saint-Germain are going to step up a gear with the International Champions Cup, which starts on Saturday with an encounter against Bayern Munich in Klagenfurt, Austria. Due to the World Cup, Thomas Tuchel will be working with a more limited squad than usual.

Without its internationals, who’ll join in a steady flow in July and August, the team has been working at the Ooredoo Centre with two training sessions a day before Friday’s departure for Austria. Paris Saint-Germain will return to the Wörthersee Stadium where they defeated Lyon 4-1 to win the 2016 Trophée des Champions when they step out against Bayern at 16:05CEST.

It’ll be an opportunity for the players to test themselves against a formidable opponent, even if Bayern too will be without some of their biggest names. It’s quite an opening to the Summer Tour, which will take the Rouge et Bleu to Singapore for ICC games against Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, before they head to Shenzhen in China where this year’s Trophée des Champions will be held – AS Monaco await on 4 August.

It is all building up to the start of the Ligue 1 season which will see Caen arrive as visitors to the Parc des Princes on Sunday, 12 August.
