The Andalusian also became the eighth top scorer in the history of the Spanish national team. After his penalty and header against the Ukrainian team, he overtook Julio Salinas (22) in the list of scorers and equalized the 23 that Alfredo Di Stéfano got for Spain.

At the end of the match, Ramos spoke about the win: “I’m very happy with the result and the three points, it was a very professional performance. And on a personal level, a record I had in mind, which was to overtake Passarella. I can also contribute to the team with goals. I’m very satisfied”.
