Life in and out of quarantine, and a return back onto the field.

Nearly three full months have passed since the Bianconeri last took to the field in match kit. Three months which has seen the players forced to hang up their boots, albeit temporarily, and train at home away from their teammates.

It has been a period in which Aaron Ramsey, who remained in Turin, sought out the positives from this situation, and he conveyed his thoughts.

“I am feeling really good. We began with training individually, which was a bit strange, but I felt safe as everyone was respecting the rules,” declares the midfielder. “Then we went into full training with the team, which is really nice to be back on the pitch playing and doing what we love…

“Italy was one of the first countries to go into lockdown. I decided to stay here. It was obviously difficult, staying indoors and for many hours but a lot of positives also came from it, being with my family and having that time with them. I will forever be grateful to have that continuous time with them.”

Things are slowly starting to open up again in Turin and the rest of Italy, with the return of football, of course, being one of the main talking points. Ramsey, for one, is very excited about the prospect of taking to the field.

“I am really excited,” he adds. “In general, Italy have dealt with everything so well. Everything is restarting slowly, and the country is getting back to a new normality. We are excited, we are happy, and we are following all the protocols.

“We’re looking forward returning. It will obviously be a new experience, we experienced it against Inter, but playing behind closed doors week in and week out will be a bit strange but it is something we have to do to complete the season,” continued Ramsey. “As footballers we want go out there and play. We miss it. Even though it will be a different situation this time, we still love the game. We missed it and we are very excited to have it back.”

Juventus’ last game was against Inter behind closed, a match in which Ramsey proved to be a key player as he scored the decisive goal: “It was a very strange game to be involved in. It was one of the biggest of the season, but the atmosphere was completely different. We tried to motivate ourselves, we are professionals and so we treated the game the right way. It was important that we won that game, we got back on top of the league, and we gave everything that day to get three points. Thankfully we came away with the win.”
