Reinier gave his first interview as a madridista to Realmadrid TV and talked about his excitement ahead of this new stage in his career: “I’ve been a Real Madrid fan since I was a kid, it’s my passion and everyone knows it. I’m very happy and it’s a dream to be at this club”.

What does it mean to you to have been presented in a Real Madrid jersey?
There’s nothing else like Real Madrid, it’s the pinnacle. It’s the biggest club in the world, the team I’ve been a fan of forever. I’m very happy, our dreams have come true. The dreams of my mother, my father, my sister… I’m emotional about this chance I’ve been given. As I said, it’s a dream come true and I thank God and everyone else.

How does the dream continue from here?
The dream has come true but it’s been hard to get here. Lots of hours of work, training session, and now the work continues with absolute dedication. I’ll try and listen to the advice given to me by the guys who have been at the club for a long time and I’m very happy to have the opportunity.

What’s the first thing to go through your head when you see the 13 European Cups?
The history and significance on an international scale. The greatness of this club around the world. It’s an honour to be here, to be a Real Madrid player. It’s a dream come true. I’ve fought hard to get here. It makes me so happy to be here, experiencing this moment.

What would you say is your defining characteristic on the pitch?
I like to play short, with one-twos. I like to shoot, get into the box, and dribble. I like having efforts on goal and the key elements, scoring and setting up my teammates.

Have you spoken to Marcelo, Casemiro, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo or Militão?
They’re great people and fantastic players as well. I spent some time with Rodrygo, he showed me the facilities and I was thrilled by the welcome he gave me. I was with Casemiro, Marcelo, Vinicius Jr. and Militão, too. They’ve really welcomed me with open arms.

Where does your passion for Real Madrid come from?
I’ve loved Real Madrid ever since I was a kid. I’ve seen a lot of Champions Leagues, loads of trophies. I’m so happy to be here at this great club. Everyone knows it’s my passion and has been my team since I was small.

Now you’ll be under the orders of Raúl, one of Real Madrid’s greatest stars. What’s that like?
Amazing, I’m so excited to have him as a coach. I’ll learn so much from him. I can tell he’s a great guy and a great coach and I know he’ll help me a lot as a player and as a person.
