Daniele Rugani, whilst speaking to Sky Sport’s microphones, previewed the two challenges: “The team feels that the decisive phase is coming, and we are ready to face it. In Ferrara it will be an important game, even a difficult one, reminding us of the last two years, but we want the three points and it will be essential to bring them home.

“With Lyon it will be the Round of 16, a beautiful and difficult game. We will try to score away goals and we will be charged to pursue one of our great goals.”

The defender also spoke of his moment: “I always try to do my best and make myself ready when the team needs me and when the coach calls me in. I always try to give my best contribution.”

One of the sweetest notes in recent days has, undoubtedly, been the return of Chiellini, who was welcomed by a splendid roar at the Allianz Stadium: “Giorgio is such an important figure for us that he was also precious from outside, as an injured player. Having him back on the field going into training and matches will be a very important added value and we are very happy with this.”
