The 2018/19 Champions League season is now over with Liverpool crowned champions and UEFA have named their squad of the season, a 20 man list that contains Marc-André ter Stegen and Leo Messi.

The German is one of two goalkeepers, the other being Liverpool’s Allison Becker, with the latter’s team mates Van Dijk, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold named as defenders alongside De Ligt (Ajax) and Vertonghen (Tottenham).

In midfield Barça’s new signing Frenkie De Jong appears with Ziyech and David Neres from Ajax also appearing. Sissoko from runners-up Spurs, De Bruyne and Sterling from Manchester City, Ndombele from Lyon and Liverpool’s Wijnaldum complete the selection of midfielders.

FC Barcelona is represented in the list of strikers with Leo Messi, top scorer in the competition this season with 12 goals, along with Tadic (Ajax), Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus), Lucas Moura (Tottenham) and Mané (Liverpool).
