The 35-year-old spent three seasons at San Siro before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2012, and was part of the last Milan side to win Serie A in 2010-11. Silva hasn’t revealed what the future holds for him, but his agent, Paulo Tonietto, isn’t ruling anything out.

“In football everything is possible, but we have to wait to see what will happen because of the pandemic,” Tonietto told MilanNews.

“He has a great admiration for Milan, the years he spent there marked his career. He knows about the great affection the fans have for him.”

Silva was keen to extend his contract with PSG, but a report by Le10Sport a few weeks ago stated that the Ligue 1 club were not keen on offering their ageing captain a new deal.

Silva has won six Ligue 1 titles since moving to PSG, and 14 other pieces of silverware in the French capital. He joined PSG from Milan in a deal worth €42m in July 2012, alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Prior the postponement of Ligue 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic, Silva had made 21 league appearances and 30 across all competitions.
