The French midfielder left Old Trafford for Juventus for free after his contract expired in the summer of 2012. His return to the Premier League is now the most expensive transfer in world football history.

Before Manchester United, Real Madrid owned the two most expensive players in the world in Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo. Pogba’s transfer fee has now ecliped the staggering £85.3m (100m euros) Real paid Tottenham for Bale in 2013 and the £80m to Manchester United for Ronaldo in 2009.
