Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach):
“It wasn’t easy to find our rhythm with so many players sidelined with injury. But we started very well, pressing high as a team and winning the ball high up the pitch. The team showed an exceptional mentality. It was a deserved win. A tough win. We worked as a team, like that incredible goal-line clearance by Presnel (Kimpembe) at the end of the match. I am very proud of the team. When you play a semi-final, the only option is victory and a place in the final. I am very happy that Marco Verratti scored. We are missing a number of attacking players, so others have the shoulder the responsability. We are all very happy for him. Dani’s goal let us finish the match on a high. It was an exceptional goal. I am very happy for him because he worked very hard to come back from injury. Unfortunately we lost Marquinhos tonight, and that’s a real blow.”
