Young Boys vs Borussia Monchengladbach:
2016/ 17 Champions League Play-Off,
Date: Tuesday, 16 August, 2016.
Kick-Off: 19:45 UK,
Venue: Stade De Suisse (Bern).

Young Boys of Switzerland will be hosting German side Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday night. The first leg of their UEFA Champions League Play-off will take place at Stade De Suisse in Bern.

Young boys did well to upturn their 2-0 deficit against Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine in their previous stage. Young boys were beaten 2-0 at Ukraine, with goals from Bernard in 27′ minute and Selesnyov in the 75′ minute. But the Swiss side bounced back at home soil to beat Shakhtar 2-0 and pulling the aggregate to 2-2. A brace from Kubo 54, and 69 minute was enough to take them to penalties where they claimed victory. They now hope for a better performance against the Germans to take them into the next phase.

The Germans have directly qualified for the Champions League play-off after finishing fourth in 2015/16 Bundesliga standings. Fortunately or unfortunately for them, they will be playing the Swiss side for a second time this summer. The teams met in July for a club friendly, which went into the penalties after a 3-3 draw at full time. Borussia Monchengladbach eventually won the penalties 5-4.
