“Our destiny’s in our own hands and it’s another cup final against Shakhtar”, declared the coach.
Zinedine Zidane spoke to the media on the eve of the team’s Champions League group stage Matchday 5 encounter against Shakhtar Donetsk (6:55pm CET). The boss previewed the meeting against the Ukrainian outfit in the following terms: “Our destiny is in our own hands and we’ve got another cup final tomorrow night. We’ve got two cup finals to come in the Champions League and tomorrow’s is the most important game in the group because these three points could see us progress to the next round. “I can clearly see the players’ desire, but there have been some very strange things going on, such as injuries and our preparation has been different. All of that influences things, but the players’ desire will always be there at this club. It’s impossible not to feel that desire. The players know where they are and what it means to play for Real Madrid. We’ll always have that desire. Whilst you can put in a poor performance, the desire is another thing and that will always be there at Real Madrid”.
